A supervision order allows a local authority a more limited ability to intervene in a child's life than a care order: the local authority is under a duty to advise, assist and befriend whoever is named in the order. The supervisor can dictate where a child lives and for parents to allow acess to a child. However, the parent remains in the driving seat in terms of ParentalResponsibility which is not shared with the local authority.
